
'Best Written Pleading' Award

- A team of LL.M. (Adv.) European Business Law students consisting of Felix Kissner, Albert Kromm and, Michael-James Clifton, went to Luxembourg earlier this month to receive first prize for 'Best Written Pleading' in the European Law Moot Court Competition.
Right to strike
One of the four regional finals was held in Dallas, Texas where the European Business Law team presented their pleadings. Their case focused on a European public procurement dispute, the correct implementation of a Directive and the interaction between the freedom to provide services and the right to strike.
Award
This most prestigious of moot court competition’s is divided into both written and oral rounds in order to more accurately simulate pleading before the European Court of Justice. The team were extraordinarily delighted at the Prize Giving when they were informed that they had won the Best Written Pleadings Award. This Award is given to the team having achieved the highest average score for both the applicants’ and defendant’s pleadings in the entire competition of more than 100 teams worldwide.
Published
As a result, the team attended the All European Final before the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. Moreover, the team’s Pleadings will be published in The European Law Moot Court Society's Annual Report.
