The Dutch experiment with State aid law

PhD research is currently being conducted within the context of the profile area Interaction between Legal Systems on the role of national judges in the supervision of the enforcement of State Aid rules.

Central to this research is the question to what extent Dutch judges, while carrying out such supervision, (can) adhere to the characteristics of the (Dutch) legal area in which they operate. It will be examined in which manner they apply the European State Aid rules and to what extent they draw inspiration from each other, from the application of State Aid rules by judges in other EU Member States or from the European Commission.

The research is conducted by mw. mr. A.J. Metselaar under the supervision of mw. prof. mr. drs. W. den Ouden and mr. dr. P.C. Adriaanse.
