How can I reserve or request a book?
  • Books that are on loan can be reserved through the library catalogue (U-CAT). You just click on the 'Reserve' button next to the required item. The Law Library will inform you when the book is returned.
    Books from other libraries can be requested through Inter-library Loan.

Can I borrow books in the Law Library after 5pm and in the weekend?
  • Yes, you can. Our information desk has the same opening hours as the Law Library.
How can I prolong the borrowing period of my books?
  • You can do this by signing in as a user in the library catalogue (U-CAT) (My U-CAT).
    You can also reach us by phone(0715277515) or mail(bibliotheekrechten@law.leidenuniv.nl), or visit the information desk in the Law Library.
Where can I find the book entitled ... ?
  • You can search for a book in the library catalogue (U-CAT). Here you will obtain the relevant shelf mark to locate the book.
Where can I find the journals?
  • The journals are situated at the back of the Law Library. They are placed according to J-number. 
    The Law Library also holds e-journals.
    Both paper and e-journals can be found through the library catalogue (U-CAT).
Where in the Law Library can I find something about?
  • Try searching on subject heading in the library catalogue (U-CAT).
Can I suggest a book/journal to the Law Library?
  • Yes, you can.
