First Aid Open Access


Please note: the round table discussion of 28 October at the Faculty of Social Sciences has been cancelled. Still, Open Access Week has been a great success: so far over 300 publications have been added to the Leiden Repository. After 28 October, you will read thefull report of Open Access Week on the library website. The week from 19 till 28 October is the Open Access Week. All over the world academic institutes will organise events to show how and why scientific publications can be made freely available online. As in Leiden.
Open Access Doctor
In Leiden the Open Access Team will help scientists with uploading their publications to the internet; a team of OA doctors, recognizable by their Open Access T-shirts, will do their rounds in the faculties to provide information and personal assistance to the scientist. They will visit the different faculties on the following days:

Archaeology 21 and 26 October
The week shall be concluded on Wednesday 28 October with a prizedraw among the people who have submitted publications to the Leids Repositorium during Open Access Week Leiden. The round-table discussion that was planned for 28 Octoebr has been cancelled.

Benefits of Open Access
Open Access Leiden takes care of disclosing the scientific publications in the Leiden Repository. This way research data becomes available for everyone; knowledge can be shared easily and quickly. The research is also found and downloaded more often. The Open Access Week Leiden will be an excellent opportunity for scientist to make their publications available online for the whole world to see.

The special site is available until 1 December 2009 on the occassion of Open Access Week. The site refers you to online information that stays online as much as possible. Therefore you can add the URL of interesting links to your favourites. The URL of our special site will not be available anymore after 1 December 2009.
