The programme coordinators are responsible for the development and progress of the research programmes of the Meijers Institute. They encourage fellows and PhD candidates to conduct interdisciplinary research within one or more of these research programmes.

The establishment and aim of the E.M. Meijers Institute
The E.M. Meijers Institute for Jurisprudential Research was officially launched on 1 January 1997 as the Research Institute of the Law Faculty.

Funding
The Meijers Institute is happy to assist staff members in the preparation of applications for research funding. Since January 2008 it is no longer possible to apply for a research intensive leave.

The Faculty Quality System for Research
With the establishment of the E.M. Meijers Institute, a new quality assessment system for scientific research was developed. To fully understand this system it is important to make a distinction between the different groups of academic staff.
