After having been employed for many years at Utrecht University as professor of Women’s legal studies and subsequently professor of Legal Theory she has returned to Leiden University as professor of Human Rights and Diversity in 2013.

Her research covers human rights, equality issues and international, European and national non-discrimination law. The current focus is on gender and multicultural issues.
