6 February | Annual Winter Lecture - Prof. Yoram Dinstein

To celebrate the start of the second semester , the Department of Public International Law and the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies invited their LL.M. students and staff to the Annual Winter Lecture.

This year the lecture was delivered by Prof. Yoram Dinstein on the topic of Preventive and interceptive self-defense in international law. Yoram Dinstein is Professor Emeritus at Tel Aviv University and author of, inter alia, The Conduct of Hostilities Under the Law of International Armed Conflict (2010), The International Law of Belligerent Occupation (2009) and War, Aggression and Self-Defence (2011).

This lecture took place in the Stichthage Building Campus The Hague on 6 February 2012. The speaker was introduced by Ms. Shoshi Reshef Mor (Legal Adviser to the Ambassador of Israël to the Netherlands) and Dr. Freya Baetens (Assistant Professor of Public International Law). The lecture was followed by an animated question & answer session, after which all attendees were invited to a reception.
