- Prof. dr. Liesbeth Zegveld (1970) was appointed professor of International Humanitairan Law, in particular the Rights of Women and Children at Leiden University in September 2006. She studied law in Utrecht. In 2000 she obtained a doctorate with distinction and was awarded various prizes for her thesis. Prof. Zegveld was sworn in as an attorney in Amsterdam in 2000, when she became a partner at Böhler Franken Koppe Wijngaarden. She is a member of the international law & human rights department. Her research concentrates on International Humanitarian Law, in particular on remedies for war victims. She has had many articles published on subjects relating to international humanitarian law and war victims in particular. She is a member of the International Law Association's Committee for Compensation for War Victims.
